Taylor Mendoza / DJ Tay Tay

I am Taylor Mendoza, also known as DJ Tay Tay!  I am 31 years old and have Down Syndrome.  I have been practicing using my DJ equipment in order to perform for over a year now and have done family parties and gatherings.  I am so happy that I have had the opportunity to show my talent in public!  I was born and raised in Albuquerque and love ALL things music and dancing.  I have two doggies, Kiko and Koji and love my family and friends very much.  Feel free to recommend me to anyone in need of music and a great time!

Check her out at our Open Mic Nights, every other Thursday!

Our Team

Board of Directors:

Rachel Minnaar President/Director/Co-Founder

Rachel is an early-diagnosed individual on the autism spectrum (originally Asperger’s Syndrome in the early 90’s), as well as other diagnoses, but the arts were her therapy growing up. Her goal is to develop holistic and meaningful programs for people with disabilities, which are supportive, safe, authentic, accessible and inclusive.

The disabled community needs more freedom of speech, expression and artistic outlets, so we are here to make that happen! Disabled individuals in particular sometimes don’t get to realize and/or develop their own gifts and talents, because they don’t necessarily have the right support network to grow. We are offering our support in the form of open mics, arts workshops, classes and events. Keep growing, keep learning, keep expressing who you are. Your voice matters!

And keep checking back, we are always doing something!

Christopher Love, Treasurer/Co-Founder

Chris Love has been an advocate for fellow disabled individuals for more than a decade. He also has been involved in the performing arts for more than twenty-five years, mostly behind-the-scenes, in both professional and local community arts programs. He’s worked with local, county, and state governments to create accommodations for New Mexicans.

In his spare time he enjoys carpentry and spending time with his Catahoula dog Cyan. He likes the Moody Blues’s music, but thinks they are assholes in real life.
